The COMPACT is an attractive low profile toilet with the looks to complement any bathroom."SUN-MAR" engineers solved the challenge of incorporating the three chamber system into a low profile unit, by designing and patenting a variable diameter Bio-drum. Unlike all other units this Bio-drum is large at the rear but small at the front. The result is an electric composting toilet with an elegant rounded design, plus the well proven advantages of a three chamber system.
To maintain the uninterrupted lines of the COMPACT, a patented Bio-drum handle is recessed into the body of the toilet, and is pulled out to mix and aerate the compost.

The COMPACT is a waterless electric unit which requires no plumbing connections, and is very quick and easy to install. Installation is a simple as just plugging in a three pin plug into a standard electrical outlet, and erecting the vent stack. This vent stack attaches to rear of the unit, so it is led through a side wall, no unsightly vent piping is visible. The vent stack comes complete with the unit and includes four 30" lengths of grey 2" vent pipe, couplings, two 45 and one 90 elbow, 6 feet of pipe insulation, a roof flashing, diffusor, caulking and even nails!

The COMPACT has a 25 Watt fan, and a 200 Watt thermostatically controlled heating element in the base of the unit, (under the evaporating chamber). Maximum power usage is only 2 Amps. In normal use, the heating element is off much of the time, so average power usage is considerably less. The toilet should be unplugged if it is not to be used for 10 days or more.

The COMPACT will go through virtually any door, being only 22" wide at its widest point. It is 33 1/2" long (including the safety drains at the back), but remember that space will be needed so that the 14" long finishing drawer can be removed from time to time. The bowl liner beneath the seat can be removed for cleaning as required.

The variable diameter Bio-drum gives the COMPACT a rating of 3-5 people for weekend and vacation use, or 1-2 people in residential use. Although the COMPACT is designed to be able to evaporate all the liquid it receives during normal operation, an emergency safety drain at the rear should be hooked up to offer protection from heavy use or prolonged power interruption.
